Incorporating the Wayuu worldview into elementary education is a key element in promoting educational processes related to students’ cultural identity, oral traditions, community, and ancestral knowledge. The objective of this study was to analyze the Wayuu worldview as a cross-cutting theme in elementary schools in the municipality of Guajira, Zulia state. Methodologically, a quantitative, descriptive, field-based, non-experimental, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The study population consisted of twenty-four teachers from three educational institutions in Paraguaipoa. A thirty-six-item questionnaire using a Likert scale was administered, organized into three dimensions: organizational, pedagogical, and sociocommunal. The results showed a predominant tendency toward the “Never” response, with an overall mean of 1.31, corresponding to a very low prevalence of practices aimed at integrating the Wayuu worldview as a cross-cutting theme. It is concluded that these institutions need to strengthen organizational planning, pedagogical strategies, and engagement with families and the community to promote a primary education that is more relevant and consistent with the Wayuu cultural reality.
